Grade 6 Literacy

Wow! The Grade 6 team have been very busy in the Literacy classroom.

This term we studied 'how to write letters' students found the Australia Post interactive website fun and engaging.

Grade 6's are also on task with Reading Eggs. students are achieving great results with Reading Eggs online activities. Parents please take time to visit Reading Eggs and have a look at your child's achievements.

Reading is a part of learning so it is imperative to promote reading at home. Take time to discuss what your child has read and have them retell the story.

Grade 6's have started Behind The News. We watch BTN weekly. We discuss and analyse the news stories. Parents please take time to watch BTN with your child and discuss the importance of news and assist them with the understanding of the topic. This will support your child with their BTN homework.

I would like to encourage my Grade 6 team to bring a water bottle and a piece of fruit to class. Keeping hydrated is very important. We really enjoy eating and learning at the same time.

A friendly reminder to all parents that Term 2 homework booklets will begin in Week 2.

Holiday homework will be to read our novel 'Molly Moons Incredible book of Hypnotism' which we will continue to analyse and discuss the novel in detail in Term 2.
